Supported Employment & Job Development

The supported employment and job development program identifies and develops community employment opportunities. Individuals with disabilities are then matched with the identified opportunities and placed into competitive employment with the assistance of a job coach.

Individuals in supported employment receive assistance in job procurement and job training.

Following a placement, the job coach phases out until completely removed, but regular contact with the employer continues and assistance remains available to assist or give additional training should the employer’s needs change.

If an individual has been placed in supportive employment from one of RNS’s other work programs, he or she can always return to the program if his/her community job is eliminated or employment terminated.
